IWC Schaffhausen - Portofino
Portofino Hand-Wound Tourbillon Rétrograde
The name of the Portofino Hand-Wound Tourbillon Rétrograde contains three wonderful complications: the hand-wound movement with an 8-day power reserve, the flying tourbillon at “6 o’clock” and the retrograde date display that stretches from “8” to “10 o’clock”. The hand-wound 59900 calibre allows the integration of a hacking tourbillon, which makes it possible to set the time precisely to the second. The retrograde date display shows the date in analogue form with a date hand that moves in an arc from the 1st to the 31st of the month. The hand jumps back automatically to “one” after the last day of months with 31 days. In months with fewer than 31 days or when the watch has not been used for a while, the date display can be advanced rapidly and jumps back to the first of the month. The silver-plated dial shimmers brightly inside the 18-carat 5N gold case. The watch is fitted with a dark brown alligator leather strap from the luxury manufacturer Santoni.
