Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “Blue Angels”

In 2018, IWC became an official licensee of the “Blue Angels®” U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron. The acrobatic squadron was established in 1946 and is currently made up of 141 members from the Navy and Marines. The Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “Blue Angels®” is the third timepiece to emerge from this collaboration. Inspired by the military-exclusive watch developed with Blue Angels members in Pensacola, the chronograph features a blue ceramic case. The striking hue is the result of mixing zirconium oxide with other metallic oxides. The pushers and the crown are made of Ceratanium®, an IWC-developed material combining the lightness and robustness of titanium with the hardness and scratch-resistance of ceramic. The day-date display, the chronograph seconds hand and the small seconds add eye-catching details in yellow. The Grade 5 titanium case back features an engraving of the characteristic “Blue Angels®” lettering. Inside the case, the IWC-manufactured 69380 caliber chronograph movement is at work. The annual production of this chronograph will be limited to 500 pieces.
