We are taking time for an in-depth look at some of our favourite watch models. Distinctive style, enduring quality and innovative engineering make for some of the qualities featured in this series. Beginning bold and adventurous, look no further than the Panerai Submersible. Submersible watches are known for being professional divers watches drawing inspiration from the history of the brand whilst emphasising a forward-looking design with innovative technical solutions.

2011 Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Bronzo

First on the scene in 2011 when Panerai launched the Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Bronzo using for the first time an element which owes its charm to the aged look it develops over time, and that has always been evocative of the sea world to which Officine Panerai is historically linked. Since its first Bronzo iteration, Panerai has notably pushed the limits with its use of materials. Whether it’s the lightness and durability of Carbotech or the strength and resistance to corrosion and external shocks of BMG-TECH. Not only is a material considered to reflect the specific purpose and use of the watch, but it also embodies the adventurous, survivalist characteristics engrained in the Panerai brand. Whether it be diving, sailing or trekking through the woods, the Panerai Submersible reconnects you with the environment.

While there are a plethora of Submersible variations, we have selected our top three:

SUBMERSIBLE 42MM (PAM00684)

For a more stylish finish the updated Submersible 42MM with a brushed Oro Rosso case is the perfect evening accessory, and maintains a less sporty feel. Finished with a black alligator strap, this Submersible is Italian elegance embodied.

SUBMERSIBLE LUNA ROSSA (PAM01039)

There are a number of special edition Submersible watches and the Luna Rossa is no exception. The watch is inspired by the partnership between Panerai and the Challenger of Record of the 36th America’s Cup. Enhancing its strong personality is the unidirectional rotating bezel for calculating the duration of a dive, also made of carbotech. The dial’s special texture also conceals a fascinating secret: pieces of the sails of the Luna Rossa have been applied to it. For a unique addition to your watch collection, this Submersible is a perfect choice.

SUBMERSIBLE BMG CARBOTECH

Continuing with innovative and pioneering materials, this BMG Carbotech showcases a stylish yet ultra functional feel. The brush-finished 47MM case is made of BMG-TECH, a bulk metallic glass, that is, a material obtained from a particular glass-like alloy by a process which prevents a substantial crystallisation. This material ensures greater strength combined with greater resistance to corrosion, external shocks, and magnetic fields. Aesthetically completed by the pop of colour in the luminous blue hour markers, this Submersible is fit for any adventure.
