Professional Expertise Directorships

Bob Kennedy's appointment to public company boards has been to provide an independent view. His background as an official liquidator, management consultant and in litigation support has provided the necessary skills for that purpose. He has also been involved in litigation, making takeover offers and defending them. Bob's appointment as Chairman of several public and private company boards is as a result of his inclusive leadership style and his emphasis on corporate governance. Bob is Chairman of the audit sub-committee of a number of the public company boards of which he is a director. His background has equipped him with the ability to operate in a wide range of industries.

Management Consultancy

As a result of Bob's nearly 40 years experience in the profession, he has been involved in a wide range of management consultancy assignments including:

  • business acquisitions
  • financial management
  • organisation and administration of professional practices
  • executive recruitment and remuneration advice

Business Recovery

Bob is an Official Liquidator and has experience in a wide range of insolvency administrations. This has involved formal administrations, including Official Liquidations, Receiverships, Members' and Creditors' Voluntary Windings Up and Voluntary Administrations. He has also acted as an Agent for Mortgagees in Possession. In addition, he has given advice on numerous insolvency-related issues and situations, including advice to bankers in relation to security reviews and possible turnaround strategies. He has worked with bankers' clients in achieving successful workouts.

Litigation Support

Bob has been involved in a wide range of litigation support assignments including consequential loss as a result of fires, professional liability, commercial disputes, proving of fraudulent claims, personal injury claims and matrimonial property settlements. In matters of commercial litigation, he has provided opinions for solicitors representing both plaintiffs and defendants.
In family law matters, Bob has valued the interests of spouses in business assets on numerous occasions.

Such assignments usually require a written report. Generally in these assignments there is a possibility that evidence may be required to be given in Court. Bob has given evidence on a number of occasions in the Supreme Court of South Australia, the District Court of South Australia, the Federal Court of Australia and the Family Court of Australia.

Audit

Bob has been the partner responsible for auditing a wide range of businesses. As a member of his former firm’s quality control subcommittee he reviewed any contentious issues arising in audits undertaken by the firm.

Interests

Bob currently pursues golf with a passion and, in his spare time, enjoys art, singing, boating and family.
