He then worked in his own firm for a period of 25 years servicing a large base of business and professional clients across a broad spectrum of activites providing advice in areas of taxation, business operations and property investment.

Jon, in conjunction with his wife Jo, established three large Childcare Centres in Adelaide, one of which was sold while the other two have been retained.

Development of these business entailed:
- market research
- site selection
- business ownership structuring
- project finance sourcing

- tendering of construction and fit out
- recruitment of management and staff
- supplier sourcing and negotiation
- marketing and promotion
- systems development
- performance monitoring and competition analysis
- staff management
- business sale strategies and taxation consequences

This commercial exposure combined with a substantial private practice provided an enormous pool of technical and practical knowledge which could be drawn upon to assist clients in the pursuit of their business and personal objective.

Jon also has a significant interest in both the Commercial and Residential property markets and has assisted many clients in building up substantial portfolios.

Particular support in this area includes:
- assisting in assessing areas of possible market movement
- outlining valuation options
- building and construction reports
- finance proposals and submissions
- borrowing methods and alternatives
- cash flow modelling
- ownership structuring and entity options
- taxation effects

Jon has also had direct and indirect interests in other activities including:
- retail automotive and accessory sales

Jon's professional career combined with his extensive "real world experience" provides an enormous resource for his business and professional clients.

He also understands that while many clients are "good at what they do" they often need help and support in undertaking wealth and investment strategies outside of their comfort zone.

He views himself as not a traditional accountant and seeks to provide his clients with practical advice on their business, taxation and investment options.

He believes having been in business for many years creates a very sound knowledge and understanding of the issues which confront all business proprietors on a day to day basis.
